Meropenem Injection is an antibiotic for serious skin infections, lung infections, stomach infections, urinary tract infections, bloodstream infections, and brain infections (such as meningitis). It kills the bacteria that cause these infections. It won’t cure a viral infection, though.
Meropenem Injection is oftentimes prescribed for the treatment of seriously ill patients who are hospitalized. The drug is administered by drip/infusion or by direct vein injection under a doctor’s or nurse’s care. The dosage will be determined by your infection type, where your infection is located in the body, and how bad it is. You must continue to take the injection for as long as you have been prescribed, even if your symptoms improve rapidly. If you discontinue it too soon the infection can recur or become worse.
