Ketoconazole, Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline, Tolnaftate, Neomycin and Clobetasol Cream

Ketomentin-5 OINT is a topical combination cream indicated for the treatment of inflammatory, fungal and mixed skin infections. It is a broad-spectrum cream infused with four different types of medicines: the antifungal agents, the bacterial killer agents, the antiparasitic agents, and a corticosteroid that works against the inflammation, so they do not have to wait for the infection to be treated, plus the inflammation to be reduced, but rather, all of them act simultaneously.

The main active components, Ketoconazole and Tolnaftate, work in tandem to eradicate fungi (dermatophytes) and yeast in the skin.

Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline acts as a facilitator in the combined action of the antifungal and antiparasitic agents, thus the formulation hardly gets over any mixed infection. Neomycin Sulphate takes control over the bacteria that might come in due to the infection, while Clobetasol Propionate, a very powerful steroid from the corticosteroid group, takes care of the side effects of the infection by reducing the overall inflammatory response (more or less the same as it does with the already existing inflammation) through its antiinflammatory action. This multi-mechanism approach provides faster symptom relief and effective infection control when used under medical supervision.

• Neomycin Sulphate: 0.10% w/w

• Clobetasol Propionate: 0.05% w/w

Medical Uses of Ketomentin-5-OINT

Ketomentin-5 OINT is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory fungal skin infections, treated eczema, candidiasis, intertrigo, and mixed bacterial-fungal skin conditions. It alleviates the symptoms of itching, redness, scaling, and discomfort while letting the infection cure.

Directions to Use

Only for topical application. Clean the area that needs treatment and make sure it is dry before the medicine is applied. Depress the tube slightly to apply a very thin layer once or twice daily, or as ordered by the doctor. Keep away from eyes, mouth, and moist areas. Do not use airtight dressings unless told.

Precautions

Given the presence of steroids, it is advisable to only use under medical guidance. Prolonged or excessive use is not allowed. Unadvised on broken skin, vast areas, or infants without the doctor’s consent. Tell your doctor about allergies or current skin problems.

Possible Side Effects

Mild burning, irritation, dryness, or redness may occur. Long-term use may cause skin thinning or discoloration. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if severe reactions develop.
